We met at a Young Life leadership meeting in August of 1998. After leading together at
Langley High School in McLean, Virginia for half a year, we broke the traditional Young
Life rule of "NO DATING OTHER TEAM MEMBERS!" So, to fix the problem, we got
engaged. Ben officially proposed on April 24th on the top of the faux Eiffel Tower at
King's Dominion near Richmond, Virginia. And, as was fitting, I was there with a group of
Young Life kids from
Langley who coerced me to the top of the tower to take a picture. As Ben was supposed to
be 1000 miles away in Boston at a training class, I was very surprised to find him at the
top of the tower. I even thought to myself when he started walking towards me, "Wow,
that guy really looks like Ben!"
And, while everything else is new, we have both decided it was time to pursue a new
line of work. Ben recently began a new job in Tysons Corner as a web developer for an
e-commerce start-up, Etensity. The job has been a blessing to him, offering a wonderful
work environment and even better benefits. The company has grown to 100 employees in less
than half a year and is poised to be very successful in the near future. Jennifer recently
began a new job in Alexandria as the Marketing Coordinator for digitalNATION, the advanced
hosting division of Verio, Inc. As the company was recently bought out by the largest Web
hosting company in the nation, things have been changing on a daily basis. But, we are
hoping that the change will prove fruitful in the near future.
